OVER $15 MILLION RAISED THROUGH THE GIVE FOR LIFE MAJOR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
The campaign surpassed its objective!
In June 2015, the IRCM Foundation’s 2009-2014 major fundraising campaign, Give for Life, came to an end. The campaign, which raised funds to support health research at the IRCM, exceeded its objective by raising $15.2 million. These funds will be used to support the IRCM’s projects, thus allowing the institute to take on future challenges, reinforce its leadership role in the field of biomedical research, and ensure its growth. The campaign was publicly launched in 2011 by the co-chairs of the campaign Board, Sophie Brochu, President and CEO of Gaz Métro, and Emmanuel Triassi, CEO of Astaldi Canada. You can read the special issue of the Partenaires pour la vie newsletter (in French only), which was produced after the public launch to describe the campaign’s projects and objectives.
Prior to its public launch, a silent phase of the campaign was conducted with the IRCM’s internal community, which collected over $1 million. Several subsequent donations were facilitated thanks to the leverage achieved through these funds.
The Give for Life major fundraising campaign allowed the IRCM, among other things, to recruit and setup six new researchers, create research chairs and funds, and grant scholarships to students and postdoctoral fellows, thus training the future generation of scientists.
