Our clinical and basic research explores novel mechanisms for the development of cardiometabolic diseases in humans, such as type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis, with special focus on the role of atherogenic lipoproteins and dysfunctional adipose tissue in this process. Moreover, we examine the effect of various nutritional interventions as therapeutic tools to reverse early cardiometabolic abnormalities. This will aid in the primary prevention of cardiometabolic diseases in humans, particularly among overweight and obese subjects.
PARTICIPANTS WANTEDWe are currently looking for overweight volunteers for a project studying the effect of omega-3 supplements on the risk of diabetes. Visit the following page for more details.
