The Integrative and Molecular Physiology research unit is now accepting applications for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows (see description below). Applications are also welcome for undergraduate students seeking internships. To apply, email a cover letter (stating your interest in this laboratory), CV, and most recent transcripts directly to Dr. Mathieu Ferron.

Graduate students (MSc or PhD) or postdoctoral fellow
We are looking to recruit two PhD and/or MSc students and one postdoctoral fellow interested by molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, physiology and energy metabolism.

Research project:
Our laboratory is studying the regulation of bone and energy metabolism by various organs and cell types and the endocrine interactions implicated in these processes. We are using biochemical and cellular and molecular biology approaches, and are taking advantage of conditional knockout mouse models to study signalling pathways in vivo. Many interesting projects are currently available for students and postdoc, see our lab web site for more details.

Suggested publications:
Ferron et al. 2010, Cell, 142, 296-308
Ferron et al. 2011, Cell Metabolism, 14, 466-477
Karsenty et Ferron. 2012, Nature, 481, 314-320

BSc and/or MSc degree in biochemistry or molecular biology (or equivalent) and eligible to the Molecular Biology or Biochemistry programs at the Université de Montréal or at McGill University in Experimental Medicine. We are particularly looking for candidates who are highly motivated, enthusiastic and determined to pursue a career in research. Candidates with previous laboratory experience and with an excellent GPA are strongly encouraged to apply. Postdoc candidates should have a PhD degree in biochemistry or molecular biology (or equivalent).

Interested candidates should send a short motivation letter, a complete CV, university transcripts and two names and contacts of potential references to Dr. Mathieu Ferron :
