Work in this research unit focuses on evaluating pharmacologic and non- pharmacologic treatments for essential hypertension, the mechanisms of action of these treatments and their short- or long-term benefits. Treatments for orthostatic hypotension are evaluated for their mechanisms of action and efficacy. A second component is evaluating the benefit of an integrated clinical research unit in cardiovascular disease prevention.
