Scientists in this research unit focus on the study of hormones and receptors of gonadotrophic hormones that affect fertility. They have succeeded in developing receptor knock-out mice that are useful in the study of menopause, ovarian cancer, the ageing process, obesity, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s disease. The team is also interested in developing recombinant receptor proteins as vaccines.
