This research unit aims to identify and charactrize novel oncongenes responsible for the onset of cancer. Team members also study the mechanisms linked to the onset of retrovirus-induced neurological degenerative diseases. Some members of the team are working on the development of the AIDS virus in mouse models infected with the HIV-1 virus. These models will be helpful in understanding the disease and developing a vaccine against HIV-1.
