IRCM Graphic Standards

The following standards have been developed with a view to consolidating IRCM’s corporate identity. In order to convey a consistent and uniform corporate identity, here are several applications that provide practical help to employees and various partners when they use the logo.
IRCM’s scientific and rigorously exacting image is represented by the DNA helix. The pictogram is very stylized in order to create a truly unique signature for IRCM. The dark blue reflects the Institute’s rigorous standards and professionalism, whereas the yellow symbolizes its innovative and dynamic aspect.
In order to preserve its complete integrity, the entire logo must be used, whether it is in black and white or as a reversed image. It is, however, possible to use the pictogram by itself. It can be enlarged and screened, but its original form must never be modified. A one-quarter inch white space must be left around the logo at all times.

Colours
Whether they are used in the two-colour Pantone or four-colour process versions, the recipes for the blue and yellow of the logo must always be respected.
The black and white version of the logo must only be used for documents where black is the only colour allowed.
When the background is in a dark colour, the logo must be reversed to appear in white. No other colour must be added when this version of the logo is used.

Typography
Akzidenz Grotesk is the typeface used in the official logo because it is in perfect harmony with the image that the IRCM must reflect. This font must be used for public documents (brochures, annual reports and other) that are printed in large numbers.
Akzidenz Grotesk BE is a perfect complement for the official typeface because it is part of the logo’s composition. This font can only be used for titles, however, because its stretched out form makes it difficult to read in running text.

Incorrect use
Any other variation applied to the official version of the IRCM logo will be considered inappropriate and, therefore, unacceptable.
