 Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret, MD, Ph.D. Endocrinologist Director of the Research Unit on Metabolic Diseases Director of the Platform for Research on Obesity, Metabolism and Diabetes (PROMD) at the IRCM Professor at the Nutrition Department, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal
Dr. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret, physician and clinical researcher and diabetes and obesity specialist, has set up in September 2008 the new Research Unit on Metabolic Diseases and the Platform for Research on Obesity, Metabolism and Diabetes at the IRCM. Dr. Rabasa-Lhoret graduated from the Faculté de Médecine de Paris St-Antoine and the Université de Montpellier, among others. He is physician in the CHUM department of endocrinology (Hôtel-Dieu). Dr. Rabasa-Lhoret is a member of the Montreal Diabetes Research Center (MDRC). The MDRC is a network that brings together the expertise of various scientists and clinicians from the Montréal, McGill, Laval and Ottawa universities, thus allowing for a deeper understanding of diabetes. During his studies and from the beginning of his career, Dr. Rabasa-Lhoret has been granted several prestigious awards and scholarships. He has trained and supervised many graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. He has published several book chapters, as well as articles in distinguished scientific journals such as Diabetes, Endocrinology & J Clin Metab and Am J Clin Nutr. He has also been a guest speaker at many national and international conferences.
 Chantal Blais, RD Nutritionist Head of the Clinical Nutrition Department, IRCM Outpatient Clinic
Chantal Blais is a nutritionist and holds a B.Sc. in sports sciences. She is Head of the Clinical Nutrition Department at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal since 1997. Since 2001, she has been a member of the executive committee of the Société québécoise de lipidologie, nutrition et métabolisme and, since 2000, a member of the advisory committee of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada’s Health Check™ Program. She is a member of the scientific committee of Cholestaction, an advisory group on cholesterol for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Québec from 1993 to 2002, which ended in 2002. She is a member of board for 2009-2010 of the Société québécoise d’hypertension artérielle. Chantal Blais is, moreover, collaborator to the ongoing project in primary prevention in cardiovascular health. Author of several articles on nutrition published in medical journals and elsewhere, she has also recently co-authored with other nutritionists two nutritional guides on cardiovascular health. She is often seen commenting various food items on TV shows on health, such as L’épicerie on Radio-Canada.
 Véronique Perrault, B.Sc. Kinesiologist IRCM Outpatient Clinic
Kinesiologist with a strong expertise in project management, research and clinical intervention in the areas of exercise and training physiology, Véronique Perrault works with athletes as well as with symptomatic individuals. Since 2002, she has been a lecturer in the Kinesiology Department at the Université de Montréal, specializing in obesity, diabetes and bone health. At the IRCM, she works as a clinical kinesiologist, among others in the primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases within the multidisciplinary team of the Éducoeur Project. She is also a coordinator for Éducœur-en-route, a project aiming at transfering the clinical tools developed at the IRCM to the medical front-line through nurses in family medicine groups (GMF).

 Louise Lambert-Lagacé, CM, CQ, RD Nutritionist President, La clinique de nutrition Louise Lambert-Lagacé et associés
Louise Lambert-Lagacé, President of La Clinique de nutrition Louise-Lambert Lagacé et associés, earned a B.Sc. in nutrition from the Université de Montréal in 1961. She is the author of nine books on nutrition for the general public and co-author of four books for health-care professionals and physicians. She has written many articles for Châtelaine and Sel et Poivre magazines and Le Devoir daily newspaper. Finally, she hosted nearly 600 TV programs on nutrition on Radio-Canada, Radio-Québec and TVA. She received thd “Médaille du Cent cinquantième” from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine in 1993. She is a member of the Order of Canada and was named Chevalier, Ordre national du Québec in 2006. Ms. Lambert-Lagacé has been a member of the IRCM Board since 2001.
