The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) announced the results of the march 2006 competition. The recipients include six IRCM researchers. More than $4 million over a period of five years were awarded.
Dr. Benoit Coulombe: a grant of $177,500, for a period of five years, for the research project « Proteomic analysis of the cell machinery that interprets the human genome ».
Dr. Louis-Gilles Durand: a grant of $112,852, for a period of three years, for the research project Impact of aortic stenosis and systemic arterial hypertension on coronary circulation and left ventricular function.
Dr. Yvan Guindon: a grant of $150,000, for one year, for the research project Antitumoral agents. Discovery of novel lead series (Proof of Principle Initiative).
Dr. Marie Kmita: a grant of $136,484, for a period of five years, for the research project Interplay between hox genes, cell proliferation and apoptosis during embryogenesis.
Dr. François Robert: a grant of $139,632, for a period of five years, for the research project The role of chromatin in cell cycle gene transcription and DNA replication.
Dr. André Veillette: a grant of $114,221, for a period of five years, for the research project Regulation of immunity and cancer by PTP-PEST.
Dr. André Veillette: a grant of $150 294, for a period of five years, for the research project SLAM family receptors in immunity and cancer.
