Dr. Pierre Larochelle honoured

During the annual dinner held yesterday, Dr. Pierre Larochelle was awarded the Marcel-Piché prize in recognition of his exemplary work in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The Marcel-Piché prize is awarded to an IRCM researcher to underscore the quality of their achievements and contribution to the advancement of Quebec’s scientific community. Dr. Larochelle is Director of the IRCM Clinic and Director of the Cardiovascular Pharmacology research unit.

The dinner was held under the honorary presidency of Mr. Alain Bouchard, President of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Alimentation Couche-tard Inc., and his wife, Mrs. Sandra Chartrand, and brought together more than 500 guests from the business, scientific and academic communities. The amount raised reached $265 000. These funds will enable the IRCM to award at least five research scholarships, and will also be used to launch new research units.
