The IRCM clinic is seeking volunteers for a research project on the role of the CFTR gene in type 1 diabetes. The CFTR gene is expressed in the the lungs and the pancreas. This study will investigate whether the presence of mutations of the CFTR gene is associated to poor glucose control and an increase in the frequency and/or severity of hypoglycemia in people living with type 1 diabetes.
The project is being carried out under the supervision of Dr. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret.
Inclusion criteria
- Clinical diagnosis of type 1 diabetes
- Be over 18 years of age
This study involves one visit that lasts approximately 30 minutes. Blood samples will be collected and data from the medical file will be retrieved by the study nurse.
