Specialized Nurse Practitioner

Summary of responsibilities:
Dr. Liana Falcone leads a post-Covid-19 clinic that provides clinical follow-up and an integrated research project, which includes further clinical and physiological assessments, as well as sample collection for biobanking studies. Reporting to Dr. Falcone, the Specialized Nurse Practitioner oversees the conduct and coordination of the post COVID-19 clinic. She implements and participates in the evaluation of care programs. She collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders. She plays an advisory role to her colleagues and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Various tasks : 

  • Prescribing diagnostic tests
  • Use diagnostic techniques 
  • Prescribing drugs and other substances
  • Prescribing medical treatment
  • Learn about the proposed clinical trial
  • Determine feasibility, assess needs required for implementation
  • Share with the researcher the observations that will need to be re-evaluated.
  • Management of the study by ensuring the application of the recommendations of good clinical practices and the center's SOPs. 
  • Carry out preliminary recruitment by telephone or e-mail
  • Meeting with the volunteers to read the project, answer questions, sign the consent form.
  • Verification of inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Telephone or e-mail follow-up of volunteers, depending on the needs of the researcher
  • During visits, treatment management required by the protocol
  • Collect information in official documents
  • Identification of tubes, preparation of requests
  • Monitoring of laboratory results
  • Following laboratory results and implement the recommendations 
  • Maintain the allocated budget for participants
  • Maintain the volunteer EMR
  • Follow-up with the CHUM laboratory service if results are missing
  • Complete any training required for the study and update the expired one
  • Proceed with posting within the recommended timeframe

Qualifications required

  • Master's degree in nursing and member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec
  • Hold a permit for the title of Specialized Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum 2 years of research experience
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English)
  • Knowledge of standard software and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Experience in clinical research would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Nagano

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment

Conditions of employment 

  • Work schedule of 36,25 hours per week 
  • One (1) year contract with the possibility of renewal
  • Contribution to the Pension Plan for Employees of Government and Public Bodies (RREGOP)

  • 13 paid statutory holidays and 10 days of sick leave per year 
  • 15 days of vacation after one year worked of the reference period
