This conference is hosted by Artur Kania, PhD . This conference is part of the 2024-2025 IRCM conference calendar.

About this conference
As neurons differentiate and assemble into circuits, they form the most complex and diverse structures of any cell type. Disruption of this process leads to neurodevelopmental disorders. My group uses Drosophila and mammalian models to understand the regulatory control systems of neuron differentiation. I will address transcription mechanisms that regulate the initiation of neuron differentiation by changing cellular responses to a repetitively used signaling pathway. I will further discuss how transcriptional programs encode nervous system connectivity by controlling the spatial and temporal dynamics of cytoskeletal effectors, which, in turn, alter local dendrite arbor branching and growth.
