Death notice of Dr. Robert Dufour

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Robert Dufour on November 7. 

He was a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of dyslipidemias and was Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Prevention Clinic at the IRCM since 2001. Until recently, he was the Director of the IRCM Clinic for Nutrition, Metabolism and Atherosclerosis.

“We want to pass on our sincere condolences to Dr. Dufour’s wife and his children as well as his relatives. His departure saddened us greatly,” said Tarik Möröy, President and Scientific Director of the IRCM, and Yves Berthiaume, Vice President, Clinic and Clinical Research. “Dr. Dufour will be missed by the Institute’s community, including his patients, who cherished him. Not only was he a renowned expert and an outstanding collaborator, but he was also deeply dedicated to his patients and committed to their well-being.”

Robert Dufour completed a bachelor’s degree in physiology and biochemistry at Université de Sherbrooke, a master’s degree in nutrition at Université Laval, and his medical studies at Université de Montréal. He completed his fellowship in lipidology at the IRCM. He was also an associate member of the Department of General Medicine at the CHUM.
