JOB PURPOSE
Under the authority of the Director of Technical Services, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the proper operation of all electromechanical equipment and for overseeing maintenance, servicing, and repair activities within the IRCM building.
This includes high- and low-pressure steam heating systems, cooling systems, water production and treatment systems, domestic, laboratory, and reverse osmosis hot and cold water systems, as well as all other equipment and services installed in the IRCM facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and oversee the team of stationary engineers, providing daily support in problem-solving.
 - Ensure equipment reliability and safety through strict adherence to the preventive maintenance program.
 - Plan, coordinate, and monitor maintenance and repair work in collaboration with users, consultants, and external contractors.
 - Ensure the health and safety of workers and users.
 - Participate in improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing energy consumption.
 - Monitor the quality of maintenance contracts and recommend improvements.
 - Diagnose, correct, and prevent failures in HVAC systems and electromechanical installations.
 - Operate and maintain the thermal plant (Class 3B), including boilers, air conditioning, and related equipment.
 - Perform occasional mechanical repairs as needed (pumps, bearings, seals, belts, etc.).
 - Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (RBQ).
 
REQUIREMENTS
- Vocational Diploma (D.E.P.) in Stationary Engineering.
 - Minimum of 5 years of experience in building mechanics.
 - Hold a Class 3B or higher Stationary Engineer certificate (obtained or in progress, with validated hours), which requires:
	
- Completion of all qualifying components
 - Fulfillment of the minimum required apprenticeship hours
 - Successful completion of all mandatory training
