The Neural Circuit Development Research Unit headed by Dr. Artur Kania is seeking candidates to fill in the position of Research Associate
Summary of responsibilities
- Formulate scientific hypotheses, conceive, develop, and perform the experiments to verify these hypotheses
- Collaborate on the writing of grant applications for the research unit’s projects
- Write scientific manuscripts reporting the results of the research
- Develop new scientific projects in collaboration with the Research Unit Director
Requirements qualifications
- Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in neuroscience or a closely related field
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in scientific performance, as judged by the quality of previous publications
- Have substantial experience and expertise in some of the following fields: developmental biology, molecular neurobiology, neuroscience, genetics, neurophysiology
- Have thorough technical knowledge in: immunohistochemistry, RNAscope technology, neuronal tracing, stereotactic surgery, mouse behaviour analysis, neuroanatomy
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residence

- Temporary full time position (2 years).
