About Fabio Demontis
Dr. Fabio Demontis is a Principal Investigator in Developmental Biology and an Associate Faculty Member at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee (USA). His research focuses on 1) the role of proteostasis and stress responses in skeletal muscle aging, and 2) systemic signaling via muscle-derived secreted factors (myokines) during aging and age-related diseases. He has received several distinctions, including the Hartwell Foundation Individual Biomedical Research Award (2017) and the Glenn Award for Research in Biological Mechanisms of Aging (2015). His lab is funded by grants from the National Institute on Aging (NIA), of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and from the Alzheimer's Association.
