2026 Internal Edition of Science POP: An Exceptional New Crop at the IRCM

The IRCM is proud to announce the winners of the 2026 internal edition of Science POP, a flagship science communication event that showcases the talent, the creativity, and the rigour of our next generation of researchers. Once again, this year, participants impressed the audience with the remarkable quality of their presentations, their pedagogical skill, and their ability to make science accessible, relevant, and inspiring. Choosing the winners was a tall order for the judges.

At the end of a highly competitive event, we warmly congratulate the winners of the three challenges:

Outreach Challenge

  • 1st place and People’s Choice Award – Lucas Cervantes-Herrera, MSc student in Molecular Biology under the supervision of Dr. David Hipfner
  • 2nd place – Rahil Elimam, Master student in Molecular Biology under the supervision of Dr. Frédéric Charron

Media Challenge

  • Solène Huck, PhD student in Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Yvan Guindon

Sustainable Health Challenge

  • Ayichatou Sall, Master student in Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Éric Lécuyer.

We wish to highlight the exemplary participation of all presenters, each contributing to making this edition a true showcase of scientific innovation at the IRCM. Their commitment and ability to communicate their passion enriched the event and helped shine a light on the excellence of our community.

The IRCM also extends its sincere thanks to the members of the jury for the quality of their evaluations, their availability, and their informed perspectives. A big thank you as well to the organizers, whose rigorous work and enthusiasm made this exceptional edition possible.
