Evaluation of the effectiveness of a HIIT educational and training program on perceived hypoglycemic symptoms

The purpose of the research project is to determine if a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program combined with an education program to prevent hypoglycemia improves the perception of hypoglycemia symptoms in people living with type 1 diabetes.

This study involves 2 in-person or remote visits and 18 telephone or teleconsultation visits that may take place over approximately 16 weeks.

The first group includes a training program on the prevention of hypoglycemia including two 45-minute sessions with a diabetes specialist. The second group will also have a progressive, personalized exercise program supervised by a physical activity professional. The exercise program includes 3 exercise sessions per week over a period of 12 weeks.
