Founded in 1967, the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) is a non-profit organization conducting fundamental and clinical biomedical research. With approximately 450 team members, the Institute operates specialized research clinics focusing on post-COVID-19 conditions, immunology, hypertension, nutrition, and diabetes.
The Falcone Lab is a dynamic interdisciplinary team that combines clinical care and scientific research. JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of Dr. Falcone (a clinician-scientist in internal medicine and infectious diseases), the research coordinator will play a key role in managing studies focused on:
- Post-infectious conditions (e.g., long COVID),
- The gut microbiome,
- Chronic immune-inflammatory diseases,
- Personalized medicine.
Projects include clinical trials, longitudinal cohorts, and studies using advanced platforms (multi-omics, molecular biology, imaging, etc.).
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact research projects closely tied to clinical care and scientific innovation. We are looking for a proactive, organized, and motivated individual who can build trusting relationships with patients and efficiently coordinate the various aspects of the research projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively recruit participants, ensure informed consent, and manage follow-ups and clinical data collection.
- Coordinate the logistical implementation of research projects.
- Collaborate with members of the clinical and scientific team.
- Ensure the quality, ethical compliance, and regulatory conformity of projects.
- Draft, adapt, and submit protocols (and amendments) to ethics committees.
- Assist in writing progress reports and publications.
- Develop budgets related to clinical research projects.
- Organize team meetings: prepare agendas and take meeting minutes.
- Extract, verify, and clean clinical data.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in health sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related field (Master’s an asset).
- Experience in clinical research coordination or in an academic environment (1–2 years preferred).
- Excellent ability to build trust with patients and partners.
- Attention to detail, autonomy, sound judgment, and ability to manage priorities.
- Diplomacy, energy, professionalism, and team spirit.
- Fluent in French (oral and written) – English is an asset.
- Familiarity with GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ethical procedures (CIUSSS/IRB).
- Comfortable with digital tools: Microsoft 365, REDCap, project management platforms.
