About this conference
In this talk, I will present our recent work identifying a new and distinct vertebral skeletal stem cell responsible for forming the spine and will also present evidence that this vertebral skeletal stem cell is responsible for the much higher rates of metastasis observed to the spine versus other skeletal sites in breast and other solid tumor types.

About Matthew Greenblatt
Dr. Matthew Greenblatt performed his MD-PhD training at Harvard Medical School, completing his PhD thesis in immunology in the laboratory of Dr. Laurie Glimcher before shifting his focus to bone biology.  After completing residency in pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, he joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2015, where he focuses primarily on a research laboratory seeking to identify skeletal stem cells in addition to practicing as a pathologist and serving as the Associate Program Director for the Pathology Residency Program.
