This year once again, the IRCM reaffirms that the future of science is being built within its walls, at the very heart of its laboratories, thanks to the unwavering commitment of the Foundation to supporting the next generation. Guided by this conviction, the IRCM Foundation is delighted to award 32 research scholarships, totalling $394,000, to the students and postdoctoral fellows who are already shaping the science of tomorrow.
On February 18, 2026, the Institute’s Grand Hall came alive with collective enthusiasm as partners, donors, internal teams, board members, and colleagues gathered to celebrate the talent, the perseverance, and the creativity of these young scientists.
This ceremony was more than a merely scholarship presentation; it was a moment for the entire scientific community to reaffirm its strong and united confidence in the future, and in those who will carry it forward.
To innovate in biomedical research is to choose to invest in the intelligence, perseverance, and boldness of a new generation. It is to open doors, to push the boundaries of knowledge, and to encourage visionary projects that will transform health and patient care in the future.
The scholarships are awarded after a rigorous selection process based on academic excellence and the scientific merit of the research proposals. They allow our emerging scientists to learn, to create, to take risks, to deepen their expertise, and to ultimately grow within an environment where science is both explored and reinvented.
