The IRCM Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Selena Lu and Martin Deschênes to its Board of Directors. With their exceptional backgrounds in business law, organizational growth, and leadership, their contributions will strengthen the Foundation’s ability to support the excellence of health research conducted at the IRCM.
Selena Lu brings extensive experience in governance and business strategy, gained at companies operating in cutting-edge sectors such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. A Partner in Lavery’s Business Law Group, Selena Lu advises companies on cross-border mergers and acquisitions. A Certified Corporate Director (ASC), she also serves on the boards of Desjardins General Insurance Group and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. She is also recognized for her commitment to leadership, governance, diversity, and inclusion, a dedication that has earned her several honors, including the 2025 Women of Distinction Leadership Award from Ascend Montreal.
For his part, Martin Deschênes brings a wealth of experience in management, organizational development, and business growth, along with a proven ability to rally teams around ambitious goals. He has over 30 years of experience in the distribution and retail sectors. After holding executive positions at L’Oréal, BCBG Max Azria, and Groupe Legault, he currently serves as Market Vice President at Groupe Deschênes. Known for his people-oriented leadership style, he is also active as a mentor and coach, helping to unlock the potential of both individuals and organizations.
