About the conference:
The role of aspirin in primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease has been redefined in recent years by large-scale, randomized studies. Platelets in diabetic patients present a higher potential for thrombosis and respond differently to aspirin compared to platelets in non-diabetic patients. In this conference, I will present the mechanistic, translational and clinical implications of diabetes in the use of aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
