Health Ethics Conference
Damien Contandriopoulos

A policy analysis of barriers to data access for health research

(This conference will be in French.)

Damien Contandriopoulos, PhD
Professor, School of Nursing
University of Victoria

To attend the conference, please visit the following web page : 2022 conferences series | Pragmatic Health Ethics Research Unit

Brief summary of the presentation:
As any researcher who has attempted to access administrative data for research purposes has discovered, the mechanisms that govern access to these data are intimidating and often impassable barriers. The presentation will propose a political reading of the choices that are made regarding the framework of access to data for research purposes. The scientific and social implications of the situation will also be discussed as well as elements of solutions for the future.

About Damien Contandriopoulos:
His main areas of research are focused on the analysis of health policy-making processes, the use of evidence in decision-making and the analysis of nurse-intensive models of healthcare delivery.
