An IRCM Alumnus Wins Prestigious Wilder-Penfield Prize

The Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) proudly congratulates Dr. Philippe Pibarot, former student and researcher at our Institute, on receiving Québec’s highest honor in biomedical research: the Wilder-Penfield Prize.

A global leader in structural cardiology and valvular heart disease, Dr. Pibarot is Full Professor at Université Laval’s Faculty of Medicine and heads cardiology research and the Echo Core Lab at the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute (IUCPQ). As Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Heart Valve Society, he combines cutting-edge science with a strong commitment to translating discoveries into clinical practice.

This award recognizes an exceptional career dedicated to advancing biomedical research.

Dr. Pibarot credits IRCM and his mentor, Dr. Louis-Gilles Durand, for igniting his passion for discovery:
