CRCQ: A Vibrant 2025 Congress

The 2025 CRCQ Congress was a resounding success for this organization dedicated to promoting research and supporting the next generation of scientists in Québec—an organization with long-standing and close ties to the IRCM.

‘’For 67 years, the CRCQ (formerly the “Club de recherches cliniques du Québec”) has brought together Québec’s researchers at its annual scientific congress. The 2025 edition welcomed over 175 participants and was a true scientific triumph! “I’m very proud to contribute to this organization that showcases biomedical research in French,” said Mathieu Ferron, President of the CRCQ.

Alongside rich scientific exchanges on a wide range of topics—from cancer to immunity—Dr. Nabil G. Seidah, Director of the Neuroendocrinology Biochemistry Research Unit, was awarded the 2025 Michel-Sarrazin Prize. Since 1977, this prestigious award has been presented annually by the CRCQ to a distinguished Québec scientist for their outstanding contribution to the advancement of biomedical research.

Dr. Michel Bouvier, renowned researcher at the IRIC, received the Scientific Mentor Award.

In addition, the André-Dupont Prize was awarded to Dr. Amélie Fradet-Turcotte, Ph.D., from the CHU de Québec Research Center and the Department of Molecular Biology, Medical Biochemistry and Pathology at Université Laval. This prize is awarded annually to a young researcher for excellence in biomedical research, with less than ten years of experience as an independent scientist.

The next CRCQ Congress will take place from October 7 to 9, 2026, at the Manoir Saint-Sauveur.
