The Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jean-François Côté as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS).
This prestigious recognition highlights the excellence of his work in health sciences, his scientific leadership, and his strong commitment to a collaborative and inclusive approach in the biomedical field.
Being elected to the CAHS is one of the highest distinctions awarded to Canadian health researchers. It reflects Dr. Côté's creativity, rigour, and determination to advance research for the benefit of society.
About Dr. Jean-François Côté
The President and Scientific Director of the IRCM, Dr. Jean-François Côté is an internationally renowned researcher whose work has significantly advanced our understanding of cell migration and cancer metastasis. As head of the Cytoskeletal Organization and Cell Migration Research Unit, he investigates the molecular dynamics that enable cancer cells to move and invade distant organs ̶ a process responsible for 90% of cancer-related deaths. Through a multidisciplinary approach, his research has led to the identification of promising therapeutic targets aimed at improving patient survival. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Cellular Signalling and Cancer Metastasis and serves as a Full Research Professor at Université de Montréal and Adjunct Professor at McGill University.
