IRCM Foundation Golf Tournament: A Winning Course for Health

IRCM Foundation Golf Tournament: A Winning Course for Health

More than 270 enthusiastic golfers took part in the IRCM Foundation’s now traditional Parcours Santé - Golf Tournament, on Tuesday, June 3rd, at Summerlea Golf Club.

For this 23rd edition, the honorary presidency was brilliantly assumed Desjardins, supported by the dynamic participation of Laurence Amann, Vice-President and General Manager, Desjardins Online Brokerage, and Philip Ward, Senior Manager, Specialized Financing and Protection Consulting, Business Services Executive Division.

Thanks to their commitment and that of the organizing committee as well as the generosity of participants, over $ 327 000 was raised for health research at the IRCM.

Numerous partners, allies and friends of health research enjoyed this day of sports networking, followed by a friendly dinner, and as every year, rounded off, by an exceptional auction masterfully hosted by former Montreal Canadiens star Yvon Lambert. It was also an ideal occasion for guests to appreciate the considerable impact of their support to research and health advances at the IRCM.

The funds raised this year will enable the acquisition of an advanced optical imaging system, capable of capturing 2D and 3D in vivo images for preclinical research applications. This research equipment enables precise and non-invasive visualization of the progression of pathologies such as tumours, facilitating the evaluation of potential drugs and treatments in mouse models. The IRCM research teams will thus increase tenfold the effectiveness of their observation and accelerate results on a wide range of diseases.

"It is with great pride and enthusiasm that Desjardins accepted the honorary presidency of the Montreal Clinical Research Institute Foundation's 2025 Golf Tournament. This event brings together people from all walks of life around a cause that touches us deeply: support for medical research," said Laurence Amann

For his part, Philip Ward emphasized that "for Desjardins, this involvement is a concrete way of contributing to the well-being of society. At Desjardins, people are always at the heart of our actions, and this partnership enables us to strengthen the precious ties we have with the community.”

"A huge thank you to our partners for their trust, loyalty and unfailing commitment! Their presence by our side makes all the difference and moves us further. The funding of this cutting-edge equipment, thanks to our golf tournament, represents an invaluable advantage the IRCM researchers’ work. Together, we can achieve great things," said André Couillard, Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors.
