RNA plays a central role in most cellular processes and understanding the basis of RNA regulation and function is central to uncover the underpinnings of many diseases. The Montreal RNA Club gathers a community of scientists studying all aspects of RNA biology (molecular, structural, evolutionary, biomedical and computational) across four universities (UdeM, McGill, UQAM, Concordia) and multiple independent research institutes from the Montreal area.
Our mission is to foster a dynamic RNA community in Montreal, share expertise, bring synergy between labs and help disseminate the latest RNA research performed all around the city. We hold regular seminars where trainees, staff scientists and principal investigators present unpublished and ongoing work as well as conceptual ideas for novel projects with an emphasis on collaborative efforts. This is followed by a social hour where scientists of all levels can further meet and discuss. By providing this forum, we aim to stimulate regular exchanges between labs, help initiate innovative new projects and nurture a collaborative environment to strengthen RNA research in Montreal.
If you're interested to join or want more information, don't hesitate and contact us.
We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!
