After a two-year absence, the Recognition Event of the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) was back on December 14, 2023.

In a packed Jean-Davignon Atrium, decked out in festive colours for the occasion, the IRCM Communications and Human Resources Departments, along with the IRCM Foundation, joined forces to honour members of the internal community who make the Institute's mission possible, through their talent, dedication and human qualities. Thus, the IRCM Foundation presented excellence awards to members of the IRCM internal community who, above and beyond their function, stood out in 2023.

•    The IRCM Foundation's Vincent Castellucci – Leadership Excellence Award was presented to two co-recipients: Dr. Nicole Francis, for her pivotal role in setting up the Green Labs initiative to promote a more eco-responsible community, and doctoral student Sophie Ehresmann for her exceptional contributions as a representative of the student community, having championed and carried through several projects aimed at improving the quality of life of students within our walls.

•    The IRCM Foundation’s André Barbeau - Human Excellence Award was presented to Paul-Émile Armando, in charge of audiovisual services, whose human qualities and talent play an important role in the organization of numerous IRCM events, whether internal, external, virtual or in person.

•    The IRCM Foundation's Pierre Bois - Scientific Involvement Excellence Award was presented to Dr. Zekai Wu, a postdoctoral fellow in the IRCM Diabetes Clinic, in recognition of his passion for improving medical knowledge, and as a champion of collaboration and open science.

On its part, the IRCM Human Resources Department celebrated the years of service of employees who have been with us for ten, 15 and 20 years. Colleagues were present to offer their warmest congratulations to these people, whose invaluable work deserved a celebration.

Lastly, the IRCM Communications Department presented the 2023 Outreach Award to Dr. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret for his exceptional and sustained collaboration in publicizing the achievements of the IRCM and its, a task that is also made possible thanks to the invaluable help of the entire clinic team. Then, the 2023 Outreach Award - Rising Star was presented to Maria Galipeau, a doctoral candidate at the IRCM, whose involvement in communicating science to the public has proved remarkable.

Congratulations to all!
